The Flattracker is off the bench...

It needs some minor fetteling, some tweeks, and it will live! The result will be a Matchless Model X on steriods! More to follow, including video's on the build...

The Austrians!

Couldn't believe the dedication of these two Austrians (a Father and Son), who'd made the trip over to Kinlochleven on a borrowed Jawa! They loved the event and Scotland, and it was a highlight of the day chatting about the Grossglockner (I've been to Austria before, and it would be a dream to go again for this event with the Golden Streak taking on the hills!).

If the Austrian Bikers see this, get in touch!

Find out more about the 2010 Grossglockner here (English Translation available);

Expect a video diary uploaded to youtube and this blog soon, but for the time being here is some pics from the event...

John Britten, vee twin

Just watched the Britten story on youtube; what a creative genius, casting his own crankcases, making the complete bike in his garage, then taking it to daytona. Even through problems and this wasn't without any big factory backing.

In the early 1990s he had a worldwide impact, a modern day Burt Munro. New Zealand certainly has a lot creative people!
