Robbie Knievel

I've just read an GQ magazine article about Robbie Knievel, son of Evel, he's a chip of the old block partying the night before a jump. One of the last showmen, he jumps in casino parking lots and like his father is hoping to come to London to jump. A friend of Eddie Kidd, another great show man.

I've posted a link to his website, it's well worth a look...the site has a feature where you can e-mail Knievel, so I'm going to try to get a message to him and I'll post any reply on here.

look at this!

http://blog.motorcycle.com/2009/06/05/motorcycle-news/top-10-motorcycle-movies/

This brought back some memories!

The World's Fastest Indian - sv to ohv, brilliant! The Wild One, I preferred Lee Marvin - what a character - to Marlon Brando character, in the film, the Matchless badges were upside down, dunno why.

Girl On a Motorcycle...so boring! She was getting driven around on a trailer, Girl On a Trailer woulda been a better title.

Still love Easy Rider all these years later, but The World's Fastest Indian is my favourite Bike movie...so far. What do you guys think is the best Biker movie?

Haggis Run 4 th October

Neville, Bob and I rode from Cawdor to Elgin to meet up with Geoff and Sue. The plan was to ride to Alford via the Cabrach, all went well till we lost Bob and Neville in Elgin. So Geoff and I hot footed it over the hills on the two AJS V Twins to the start of the Run, the weather was chilly but dry and the route was good with some great views . I was following Geoff when about five miles out of Huntly his Aja stated smoking badly. At the lunch stop crankcase pressurising was diagnosed and Geoff wisely rode home, I carried on to the second part and it turned out a really nice afternoon. After the run Neville and I had a good run home. I was right...there was hailstones at Huntly not quite snow! Good run. Good Crowd.

Funny story from the Run; after taking a wrong turn in Huntly, I asked a Man working in his Garden if I was on the right route as per my route sheet, he said "well we are just outside Duftown".

Damn!

over the Cabrach again...

Has anyone else got a story?
